Squishy Feet Squishy Feet

I'll be keeping it a bit short today since I'm still having computer trouble...but don't worry, it's NOT contagious, just a little coughing and sneezing in my hard drive...

Anyway, it's FEET day over at Humor Bloggers Dot Com. You can find all kinds of funny posts today over there all about feet!

It's been a rainy week over here in hometown, USA. I knew we were expecting rain Wednesday and Thursday, so since there is a bit of a walk from where the cars are parked and where you enter the building where I work, I wore the appropriate shoes for the occasion. However, today I did not KNOW we were once again expecting the rain. Just shoot me now... I wore those kind of summer shoes that you wear without socks, and they are chock-full of holes... kinda like these:

The last time I got caught in the rain with these shoes on, they got so wet that it became a health hazard. Several times I literally just about fell off my shoes. They were so wet and squishy, it was like a skating rink inside my shoes... and here we go again!

I'm thinking, though, that instead of trying to explain how I got the broken hip by falling off of the inside skating rink of my shoes... (yeah, they'd believe that one), that I'm going to just take the shoes off. Yep... walk downtown in bare feet -- YIKES! So, now I've got a totally different health hazard to worry about...

Street cruddy feet...yuckity yuck!! Guess I'll have to spend the evening or tomorrow getting my feet did... ya know how ya go to those places and they have you put your feet in these little ponds and the little fishies take all the icky stuff off...

After that, I think I'll invest in one of those Ped Eggs. You've heard about those, haven't you? A friend of mine works with a woman who loves her Ped Egg so much, she -- get this -- uses it at her desk!!!! YOW... I'd like to think they've put a stop to THAT hygiene fail... I won't be trying to use it at work, but it might be good to get a little home-spa-thing going...

Happy Feet Day!!

She uses a ped-egg at work? Really? If she'll do that--in public, mind you--what's she doing in private?

Have fun going barefoot, and getting your toes nibbled by fish. I'd probably die laughing if I tried that.

Mike: It does make ya wonder, doesn't it... I've never tried the fishy thingy, but it's GOT to tickle!

I'm totally clueless about feet-eating fish and ped eggs. Thanks for toe-tally opening my eyes.

I tried the Ped Egg,it isn't bad but I prefer to go and get a pedicure,it's much more relaxing.

Yeah. I could go for a pedicure!

I've used a PedEgg. It was a bad experience.

And those flesh eating fish? Ugh. I heard they were gonna ban for sanitary reasons. We can't be double dipping tootsies into the fish bowl.

Whatevs.

I want a pedicure!

Whoever came up with the idea for Ped-Egg is a genius. It's basically just a cheese grater with an attached bowl to catch the grated skin. Unfortunately, it's hard to get open, so by the time I wrench it apart, I end up inhaling foot skin dust---ewww!

The most fun I ever had getting my feet wet was in the rain at Disney World. I was 21 and jealous of all the little kids there so I used my flip flops to flip up water on them. It's a good thing I don't believe in Hell--that would definitely be one of the reasons I would get sent there.

I've seen a few different news shows on how dangerous those Crock (shoes) are. Adults and children being injured because their feet have slipped out of their shoes or causing them to trip. They are suppose to be very comfortable besides that.

Kathcom: I havne't tried that thing yet, but I think I'm gonna have to...thanks for the tip about opening it...I'll be veeeery careful ;)

Tricia: I hadn't heard that about those crocks, but I only have one pair...and they are very comfortable.

Sometimes I'll clip my toe nails at my desk ... but only after I lock the door.

No sense scarring the co-workers.

Crocs are the best - especially for plantar ficiitus (or whatever it is called that is hurting my feet).

And may I join you ladies for a pedicure???

Winky Twinky said...

Phillipia: Yeah, I still like the crocs...good luck with that other thing. Sure, the more the merrier.

Have you ever heard of 'five fingers?' its a shoe that makes it feel like your barefoot, not the most attractive things but there becoming really popular, so maybe you wont have to go in deadly crocs or walk crud streets.

Winky Twinky said...

No, I haven't heard of those...I'll definitely have to check them out!!
